Summary: I read an article in a magazine recently written by Coleen Nolan, which was warning Pauline Quirke about the dangers of “YO-YO” dieting.

I read an article in a magazine recently written by Coleen Nolan, which was warning Pauline Quirke about the dangers of “YO-YO” dieting.
Coleen related how she had lost 3 stone (42 lbs)in three months, put then put it all back on plus another stone when she returned to a “normal diet”, and she thinks Pauline, who has lost 7 stone(98lbs) on a meal replacement diet will do the same, and she is probably right!
But she is missing the point, the so called “normal diet” is the one that got them morbidly obese in the first place! So it really would be no surprise if all the weight was put back on again if they went back to their previous eating habits you would reasonably conclude?
Yo Yo dieting is just a merry go round of fat to thin back to fat again, usually ending up even fatter, and depressed, after all the time and effort losing weight, only to end up even heavier than before.
To achieve a permanent weight loss, a lifestyle change is required, because if after losing weight on a diet everyone resorts to what they were eating and doing when they were fat, it's obvious what the outcome will be.
Note, Coleen Nolan and Pauline Quirke are UK celebritys, maybe unknown in the States, but I am sure that American celebs are doing the same, Kirsty Alley for example!
